The F1 Grand Prix of Turkey will take place at the Istanbul Park circuit in Kurtkoy on November 13-14-15!
Formula 1 race will take place in Turkey again after nine years! Formula 1 is one of the world’s largest sports organizations, was organized in 2011 in Turkey. Now, Turkey is having the excitement of the reunion! The Intercity Istanbul Park Circuit is well known with its corners.
Formula 1 pilots rate the Istanbul Park circuit as “challenging and exciting”. The circuit is established on an area of 2 million 215 thousand square meters in total. Intercity Istanbul Park, which has a circuit length of 5 thousand 338 meters, has a total of 14 corners, 6 to the right and 8 to the left.
Legendary pilot Michael Schumacher said “Istanbul Park has an anti-clockwise circuit. It has a lot of bumps and different corners, so this circuit is very nice to race.” He also stated that the Istanbul Park Circuit provided a good competition for the pilots in 2011.
Istanbul Park circuit normally has a capacity of 220 thousand spectators. However, due to the pandemic, the spectator capacity will be limited to 100 thousand. The spectators will be able to watch the race in accordance with the social distance rules with one seat empty between them.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu announced on his Twitter account that Istanbul is ready for the Formula 1 race. It will be an exciting race for all Istanbul and all Formula 1 fans!
